We serve Santa Muerte.
Unity
Santa Muerte is a folk saint, generally worshipped by small, loose-knit groups of followers. Customarily (and for other reasons) the vast majorities of devotees worship privately or semi-privately. In fact, practice amongst members varies region to region. While there are established methods in place, there is no truly “wrong” way to practice. In fact, worship is organic and ever changing!
ISM seeks to preserve these customs, practices, rituals and groups as that is part of what makes serving Santa Muerte so unique. Rather than apply a completely uniform and formal approach to worship, ISM seeks to instead celebrate this diversity.
Information
With roots based on Aztec religions, Catholicism, Afro-Caribbean influences, and other mythical sources, the history of Santa Muerte is rich and colorful. Many noted anthropologists and authors have documented her history through research, interviews, and practice.ISM seeks to assimilate this information and keep it organized and archived. ISM is also dedicated to expanding on this research.
Promotion
Santa Muerte is an extremely powerful saint. She works swiftly and expediently when called upon. At one point or another, she has improved all of our lives and impacted us in a positive way.Our loved ones, our friends, our acquaintances, and everyone around us can benefit from Santa Muerte’s power. We hope to improve and enrich their lives by spreading the word of her awesome power.
There are many, many stories and accounts of how Santa Muerte helps her followers. She protects and serves those who let her into their life. She will bring health, happiness, and prosperity into your life. She will protect from you injustices and harm. Please see our Experiences section to witness for yourself just how powerful Santa Muerte is!
Public Image
Due to misinformation, politics and fear, Santa Muerte is frequently portrayed in a negative light. For example, in the United States culturally death is a taboo subject, and one that is not typically confronted. The very image of Santa Muerte immediately conjures up negative feelings and emotions. Couple that with misinformation and sensationalistic media, and it is easy to see why people have reservations or even fear about Santa Muerte.
In Mexico, the situation is a bit more political and religious in nature due to conflicts with both the government and the powerful Catholic Church. Many adherents as well as non-members are disillusioned with both entities. ISM seeks to counteract these negative forces as well as reveal its members for who they really are: kind, considerate, hard-working people who seek to improve the world.
Celebration
While we worship the Lady of Death, we celebrate and rejoice in life! Our lives have so much to offer, so many places to see, so much to be learned, and so many experiences to be had. Time is precious; not one second of it should be wasted.By forming connections with like-minded people, everyone can share each and every one of our unique life experiences as well as enrich and fulfill our lives in ways we previously could not have imagined.
